FOOD WRITERS IN PIEMONTE, FALL 2025: I’m excited to announce that Domenica Marchetti and I have added a second Food Writers in Piemonte workshop to our 2025 schedule. This five-day workshop and tour will take place Oct. 3-8, 2025. The itinerary will be similar to our sold-out May workshop. Finding Voice in Food and Memoir Writing: A One-Day Writing Workshop at The Word Barn in Exeter, NH on Saturday, November 1, 2025, 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
We will spend the day focused on building voice in your writing, building confidence, and focusing your ability to describe food experiences in a unique way. From sensory exercises, to honing your ability to write recipes, to fine tuning your writing style, the day will be full of surprises. We will spend time writing based on shared prompts and you’ll have the chance to read your work aloud and receive invaluable feedback.

I will be teaching a class called Food Writing in Cilento with Domenica Marchetti in southern Italy May 14-19, 2020. This five day tour takes you to a little know region south of Naples where we will focus on the art of food writing, and have day trips to the culinary and historical wonders of the region, as well as eat and drink quite a bit.
